I am originally from Harahan, La but in 1987 I moved up to Folsom, a very nice town I might add. I traveled with my husband around the globe while he served in the U.S. Army for eight years (loved living in Hawaii!!). We have a sixteen year old son named Corey (a teenager....aaahhh)!!! I own three dogs (Andre, AJ and Mojo) and eight cats (Mikey, Sonny, Minnie, MeMe and MeToo who I helped deliver and hand raised, LT who I bottle fed and PC and Lil Bit who are the newest members). All of my cats fancy themselves as great hunters; but to be quite honest, I think they are a bit too lazy to actually catch anything! I have been working as a veterinary technician for the past nine years and honestly can't imagine doing anything else. My job allows me to put a personal touch on the care and well being of the animals. |

I grew up in Warrington Pennsylvania (just north of Philadelphia) but moved to Louisiana after high school. I attended school at Nichols State in Thibodaux, La. and SLU in Hammond, La. I have a 17 year old son who loves animals as much as I do. My family counts 8 members, 3 dogs (Bonnie, Kayla and Keelie), 2 cats (Cody and BB), a ferret (Jovi) and a ball python named Slither (plus my son and husband of course)! It makes my house a very active place. I have worked in several different fields before working with animals. I love being a vet tech. It is great to see the wide variety of animals that people make part of their families. It is so rewarding to help people take care of their animal babies. |

I was born in New Orleans but grew up in Folsom, Louisiana. As an adult I spent nine years in the Navy and got to travel all over the country and the world. I now live back in Folsom with the youngest of my 4 sons, Trevor. He is 8 years old and quite a little cowboy and athlete. His schedule keeps me busy! I have worked in veterinary medicine for 6 years and cannot imagine working anywhere but Madisonville Animal Hospital. We work hard to keep the clinic looking good and our patients feeling good! |

Nikki Davis
| Hi I am Nikki and I am the Kennel Care Supervisor for the clinic. I make sure your pet's stay with us is enjoyable and that they go home looking and feeling good. I grew up in Folsom and graduated from Covington High School. I have a son named Jarret and a baby girl named Jessie. They do keep me busy but are my heart. We have a family atmosphere at the clinic that makes all of our visitors feel at ease. Stop by and see us some time. I'll be happy to show you our kennels! |

Miss Danette Duke I am a junior at Southeastern Louisiana University. I have loved animals my entire life, especially horses, and hope to graduate from Vet School myself one day. My boyfriend, Josh, and I have 1 horse, Elmo, 2 dogs (a black lab Roadie and a terrier mix named Sophie) and 2 cats, Nala and Simba (Ok I like Disney). We all barely fit in the house, ha ha! I have been working at Madisonville Animal Hospital for 2 1/2 years and I have been learning a lot. Maybe one day I'll be treating my own patients.

Dottie Boo , VSK (Very Special Kitty) Dottie was born and raised at Madisonville Animal Hospital. She was one of a litter of four kittens that we saved and bottle raised. When it came time to find homes, no one wanted to adopt Dottie because she was not the prettiest. Well Dr. Christine recognized her beauty and decided to keep her as a clinic kitty. Soon after, clients started seeing Dottie for the beauty that she was (and her super sweet personality helped too) and began asking if they could adopt her. Too late! By then she was Dr. Christine's special kitty and they shared a real connection. Dottie is the law keeper at the clinic and her self appointed job is to make sure no one gets cranky or fussy. As her t-shirt says, she's a spicy girl! | View |
Bullet , the Handsome Man
|
Bullet was brought to the clinic as a "feral" through a program for spay/neuter. He had an injured leg and needed some medical attention. It turns out that someone shot him in the leg and he had some very bad bone fractures. During his convalescence at the clinic, he worked his charms and made a special place in our hearts for him. It turns out that Bullet is not feral instead he's just a little shy. He is a lover boy now and waits in line for his daily attention. Now he never has to worry about guns, cars or what his next meal will be. He gets lots of TLC and all the Science Diet he can eat. Better watch out, if seafood is for lunch he begs for some of that too! |
